Long Distance

“Michelle and I have been following each other on Instagram for a bit now. I first shot her a message telling her how much I enjoyed her work and if she was ever interested in working together, this was a while back. 

The only problem was that we were both located in the opposite sides of the country, her in California and myself in New Jersey. Unfortunately, I was not visiting California anytime soon. I figured how can we collaborate on a shoot while being located thousands of miles apart.  

Michelle had been posting self-shot portraits using a film camera and that sparked an idea. As an avid enthusiast of analog photography myself I said, “what if I sent her some film?”. She would shoot it, send it back, and I would take care of the rest. I pitched her the idea and she was on board with it.” - 1136mm
