Reverie
You came to me on the darkest night; for a moment I dreamt in black and white. The light was pretty, and you were, too. I just couldn’t take my eyes off you.
“Do you still miss me?” I softly said. You let out a smile, and told me to wait. I watched as you vanished through a door; the walls started crumbling, and so did the floor.
I woke in a jolt, in the coldest sweat; a familiar taste of sinking regret. When will I ever see you again? In the land of the living, my nightmares remain.
I realised I’ll never get the chance to say: I miss you, baby, each and every day. I’m sorry we never did cherish each other, but if you come back, we’ll dream in full colour.
