Winds of Change

“When the winds of change blow, some people build walls, others build windmills”

The wind often blows through the waters that make up our lives. Sometimes it is a light breeze, merely a caress as it passes through. Other times it brings with it a storm, a tossing tempest that pulls us in every direction. Smashing us against the rocks and churning our once quiet lives, making what was clear and transparent, muddy and obscure.

Some say change is good, for it moves us away from stagnation and torpor. Others disagree claiming that it only brings discomfort and insecurity. My opinion is that it is neither, it is a force of nature, a physical law. We can stand against it and be worn down like the cliff; battered at every turn for our inaction. Or we can bend to its every whim; never able to plant roots, hindering our own growth.

Embrace change, let it flow into your life and remove the things that naturally get taken from the storm, and keep those that stay, and then your person will have been imbued with what we all know as growth.
