Sea and Sand

The sand clings to her body, like another layer of skin. The coarse caress of what was once a giant mountain. The raw contact of the earth itself. The water rushes over her, vying for her attention. The soft silky touch of water washes all traces of the earth that clung so fervently to her moments ago.

The water recedes leaving her in the grip of the earth once again. Stuck in a colossal game of ebb and flow. Each beckons her, asking that she abandons the other. She cannot choose, for she feels a fondness that each element completes in her current space & time. In this moment, one cannot be realized without the other.

Here she feels at ease in the marriage of earth and sea.
