Reciprocate

The slow exhale of a short but beautiful experience. The sense of death tainting the bright hues of a sunflower and in that moment when everything becomes nothing, that sweet pause as the acknowledgement of the inevitable seeps deep into our being and a tidal wave of familiar sorrow begins to wash over that sense of purpose we carried so proudly.

Nothing seems as bright and special, not even the sun could light up a room now. Welcome home old friend it has been a while. Pull up a chair and we will get reacquainted, no whiskey tonight, just the subtle ache of our insides wanting outside. Don't worry it will pass, the cold has some amazing numbing properties. Like drowning the life out of a slowly beating heart.
